The FIR1-Eco

The “FIR1-Eco” is appx 40″ wide by 44″ deep and 6′ tall. In the “Eco”, we use a digital Timer for the outside control plus an interior 5”-diameter sauna thermometer. A ceiling air vent with carbon filtration is built-in that allow you to modulate the temperature if it feels too hot.

It is very comfortable and includes a free-standing backrest.

It uses 4 FIR heaters – one at your back; one in front of each leg – corner-mounted to each side of the door; one under the seat for the backs of your legs. An optional NIR heat lamp can be recessed into the ceiling above the upper legs and to affect the chest, while avoiding direct exposure of the eyes.

“NIR” is effective from farther distances than FIR so it has therapeutic value from the ceiling whereas FIR wouldn’t. FIR is better for detox – a more effective sweat prod, but adding some NIR increases the levels of infrared energy in the sauna and the total body area that receives the energy. This set-up is more comfortable and more effective than all-NIR saunas, and it avoids any potential eye hazards associated with mis-positioned NIR bulbs (directly in front of you).

The FIR1- the most effective detox sauna made.

The FIR1 personal sauna surrounds the bather with 6 FIR heaters for maximum exposure. No other FIR sauna room provides anything close to this degree of body coverage. There are 3 heaters just for the legs, with direct exposure in front of and behind both lower legs. A 4th heater is at the back, plus one for each side of the upper body.

The FIR1 is very comfortable with an extra-deep seat, over 24” of leg room, and a footrest (not shown). There are 2 windows – 1 at your side and another in the end wall that you face. It plugs into a standard, grounded, 15-amp, 110V outlet.

The circles above the heaters are inlet air vents where newly-warmed fresh air is always entering the sauna.
Similar constant air-change ventilation is found in each FIR model.

The FIR2 – two versions

The FIR2DX provides FIR energy for two with 7 heaters. One heater is in the side wall at the end of the seat so a sole bather can stretch out along the 4’ interior & retain FIR at their back. FIR exposure upon the back is critical to its therapeutic effects. This model is larger than most 2-person FIR saunas and must be used on a 20-amp, 110V circuit. Stereo speakers are included.

FIR2DX with NIR
FIR2

The FIR2 has 6 heaters and the same interior dimensions as the DX. There are two rear wall heaters; two front wall heaters; and two underseat heaters. Stereo speakers are optional.

The FIR3

At almost 6’ long, the FIR3 is a spacious 3-person FIR sauna. A single bather is able to recline on a 5’7” long bench. It includes 8 FIR heaters.

Our Saunas:

Each Heavenly Heat sauna is built for safety and effectiveness, using the best materials along with innovative construction methods to avoid the use of adhesives.

For the past 4 decades, our goal has been to supply doctors and home users with “medical-grade” saunas that provide an ideal detox environment. Anyone needing to eliminate toxic substances from their body can appreciate the wisdom of using a sauna that’s been the #1 choice of chemically sensitive persons for over 28 years!

Two of the most highly regarded sauna detox programs for chemical and heavy metal injury are the The Environmental Health Center – Dallas, run by Dr. William Rea, and the Nova Scotia-EHC, a clinic used to treat Canadians diagnosed with “multiple chemical sensitivity”. These medical clinics, and many others, have used a Heavenly Heat sauna successfully for several decades in treating their patients.

Key features of every Heavenly Heat sauna:

  • Built without wood glue, varnish, plywood, or any similar materials.
  • Untreated white poplar wood is used for all wooden parts, including concealed framing.
  • The frames are made of thick hardwood secured by steel screws rather than nails and glue.
  • All windows are made of strong heat-tempered glass.
  • Window gaskets are custom-milled poplar wood rather than synthetics.
  • Lights are made of plain metal and glass.
  • “Gadgets” like CD players and ionizers are deliberately excluded to limit synthetics.
  • Wall-mounted heaters are ventilated to provide an automatic, constant air-change.
  • Heaters are tested to assure low electro-magnetic fields (EMF). Each heater is dual-grounded. All cables used are metal-shielded.
  • A carbon filter purifies the stale air leaving the sauna before it enters your living space.
  • Wall-connecting latches are stainless steel; door latches are brass.

Note about “Made in the USA”

For full-disclosure purposes:

Our saunas are built in the USA. All of our wood is American; our electronic FIR controls are Canadian; our electrical wires and cables are made in the USA; our glass is tempered in the USA; our FIR heaters are made in South Korea.

Why Sauna?

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt said: “Peer reviewed literature shows that sweating during sauna therapy eliminates high levels of toxic metals, organic compounds, dioxin, and other toxins.” Dr. Klinghardt first recommended Heavenly Heat in 2006.

The following are quoted snippets from various articles and studies on toxic metals:

  1.  “Analyses of the patient’s sweat indicated that appreciable amounts of mercury were excreted by this route.”
  2.  “The mean concentrations of nickel and cadmium in sweat were higher than those reported for urine; that of lead was similar to urine.”
  3.  “By far the earliest known form of therapy” (to induce mercury excretion), “and possibly still the most effective, is the induction of sweating by the use of sauna or steam baths.”
  4.  “… sauna therapy of an individual with evidence of chronic mercurialism was effective at inducing a remarkable excretion of mercury via the sweat.”
  5.  (In workers who have perspired profusely) … “the total amount of mercury excreted in the sweat during 90 minutes ranged from 50% to 90% of that found in a 16-hour composite sample of urine (Lovejoy, et al.).
  6.  “Sweating does indeed increase mercury excretion. Probably an hour or two of sauna is the same as 50 mg of DMSA every 4 hours for a day.”

As a light wave, FIR moves very fast. It is also very well-absorbed by the body. The resulting rapid body heating triggers profuse sweating to create lower-temperature saunas with profound detoxification potential.

Our Far Infrared Heaters
WE DO NOT USE CHEAP “CARBON” HEATERS.

Despite the internet hype, our ceramic FIR heaters are better than so-called “carbon” heaters! These ceramic-coated stainless steel heaters are larger and more durable than older ceramic plate emitters. The ceramic is a blend of clay and minerals based on the patented Japanese formula used to create the first FIR saunas. They emit much greater quantities of FIR energy per area than so-called “carbon heaters”.

Marketing claims are made that carbon is superior as “new technology”. Newer may mean Chinese or cheaper but certainly not better! Most carbon heaters are thin sheets of plastic covered by glued-on synthetic cloth! What are the hottest materials in these saunas – plastic, glue, and synthetic fabric! Is that a “medical grade” detox environment? No, not remotely close!

It wouldn’t matter if these “carbon heaters” were made with carbon, ceramic, or a mixture of both as carbon has essentially nothing to do with their emissions. Any object’s surface is the primary emitter of its FIR energy – the fabric cover in this case, but try marketing “polyester heaters for detox”!

Carbon heaters supposedly provide more IR since they’re bigger? They don’t. All brands of FIR saunas use roughly the same electrical power to conform to home circuits. With carbon heaters, that power is spread out over much larger surfaces, diluting the intensity. You are left with very weak heaters that provide much less FIR per area than ceramics do.

This weakness is worsened by placing heaters where much of their output is not in-line with anyone! So, much of the FIR output is wasted. To compensate for the weak FIR exposure in “carbon saunas”, they are often used at much higher air temperatures, near a Finnish sauna’s mid-range, in order to induce sweating and facilitate detox – negating a primary value of true FIR saunas – the comfortable lower temperatures that allow for longer sessions.

Some of these imported saunas have carbon heaters in the floor. Do you want sweat to run down your legs onto a hot floor heater, releasing gaseous toxins into the air space while also contaminating the heater? No, you never want to sweat onto a heater!

Both carbon and ceramics emit FIR energy very efficiently. What really matters for a sauna’s effectiveness is the quantity of FIR energy provided to the bather. In today’s FIR saunas, carbon heating is weak and much of it is out-of-line with the bather. With ceramics, the heaters are made of natural materials, they’re stronger, and they’re positioned more strategically.

Many companies promote their saunas as if they are built like ours – “non-toxic”, “medical grade”, “hypoallergenic”. They typically aren’t built like ours at all but their clever marketing can fool folks into thinking they are! By using non-aromatic wood, it may seem as if their saunas are also made in a safest manner. The wood selection is only a first step in creating safer saunas, but it can be used as a marketing tool to create the illusion of greater safety.

Most FIR sauna construction is adhesive-based as it’s faster to secure wood to a glue-coated frame with nail guns than by inserting screws, and it allows for the use of thin paneling. Very thin, cheaper wood is typically glued-on like a veneer. They are designed for mass production, economy, and appearance – not for the “purity” required of a real medical-quality sauna.

FIR sellers often downplay the use of glue by claiming to use small amounts of “safe glue”. In every FIR sauna we’ve seen, thick gobs of adhesives secured all of the visible boards – walls, bench, floor, and ceiling to the frames.

Some USA-made carpenter’s glues are labeled “non-toxic” but they are not chemical-free. Most are water-emulsified plastic with a long list of allowed chemical additives (biocides, thinners, preservatives, coloring agents, etc.). Most FIR saunas sold in America today are Chinese or Vietnamese. What is in these glues? While detoxifying, the last thing you want to do is sweat out one toxin and inhale the fumes of another!

Heavenly Heat saunas are built in Arizona and shipped crated. Components are sized smaller than is typical (wall widths are limited to 32” max) to assure the ability to carry each part through any door or stairway. Assembly is simple – mostly by closing stainless steel latches, and they may be disassembled and relocated.

Each sauna is built with counter-sunk non-corrosive steel screws rather than glue, and with much thicker paneling to assure that each sauna is a clean-air environment that is essential for detox. This also yields strong, highly durable saunas with a lifetime warranty on construction, the electrical, and the heaters.

Each board is being double screwed at each end with non-corrosive steel screws, into a frame of clear-grade white poplar. No pine; no glue. Superior durability & cleaner air!

He has used a Heavenly Heat sauna clinically since 1994, and his patients have used them for aftercare since 1989.   • include pre-wired, marine-grade stereo speakers to hookup to your sound system (SND);
  • add a recessed, red infrared heat lamp in the ceiling (NIR) with an interior on/off switch.

The NIR is placed in front of an overhead position to beam infrared energy upon the upper legs and chest, and not in a direct line of sight with your eyes.

Add locking casters (C) to:

  • reposition the sauna, or to keep it above a potentially damp surface, or for cleaning underneath.

Please note that they raise the sauna by 4”.

Use dedicated circuits for all models.
* for residential usage. For commercial sites, use a 25-amp circuit breaker (10 AWG cable)
* **Adding NIR can modify circuit requirements in some models. Please call to discuss.
Note: 240V heating systems are available for all FIR models.
